The history of Adidas caps
In today`s post, we`re going to keep with the series of posts about premium caps brands and we`re going to dedicate this one to Adidas. Let`s find out the history of the brand and why it`s still trending in 2021.
History of the Adidas brand
Adidas is a German Brand with its origins dated at the middle of the past century. The brand was founded by Adolf Dassler, rejoined later by his brother Rudolf. During the interwar period, the production conditions were very tough. Even so, the brand convinced the American sprinter Jesse Owens to wear their shoes during the Olympics in 1936 fact that guaranteed them instant fame.
The brand got to sell up to 200 000 pairs of shoes before World War II. During the war, the brand adapted completely its production and got back to shoes once the war was over.
After the II World War, the two brothers split as their relationship was deteriorating. Rudolf founded what we`ll know later as the brand Puma, and got into direct competition with Adidas.
After a half-century marked by strong rivalry between the two brands the one that gained more visibility and kept reinventing its designs and technologies was Adidas.
They made innovative collaborations with top fashion designers like Stella McCartney or had brand ambassadors like Madonna.
They also had the first smart shoes as they inserted a microprocessor into their shoes, capable to adjust to the environment becoming softer or firmer.
Nowadays we all know Adidas is an international sportswear manufacturer. The brand has now everything from shoes, sports suits, backpacks, bags, caps.
The nowadays main competitor is Nike.
