In the last years a lot of studies came out showing the dark face of the textile industry. The treatment of the raw materials, the production of the fabrics, the finishing activities and the transformation of those fabrics into clothes – the whole process of production had a major negative impact on the social, economic and environmental dimensions of our society.

Therefore, here we introduce a eco-friendly suppliers, Atlantis.

This Italian brand gained our admiration not only for its perfect caps and hats, but also for its environment friendly policies and for its commitment to sustainability. As they say, the whole speech about respecting the planet`s rhythm is not an abstract concept, but a daily behavior. And they put it into practice.

This year they created a small line of caps made from recycled materials. For it they used some of the fabrics with the lowest environmental impact; made from polymers obtained after recycling plastic bottles. They also used cotton from second-hand clothes for the textile parts of the caps.

Their RECYCLE collection contains caps and beanies that were mainly fabricated with recycled cotton and polyester.

Another part of their efforts to have a sustainable production in the use of organic cotton for their items. Atlantis use only organic cotton grown using low environmental impact methods.

Another great step forward was the use of dye free technology. This procedure involves coloring the fabric by hot transfer from the color polymers directly to the yarn without immersion in water, avoiding waste and the emission of dyes into the water.

All in all, this brand deserves all our admiration for its efforts to put out there in the cap industry items that are made with full responsibility for the environment.

We should all rethink our way of doing shopping; we should slowly start choosing brands that acts responsibly with the people from their supply chain and chose improving their environmental impact.
